ABOUT

It started as a holiday gift.

Most partners get a bottle and a card in December. In 2018, A Great !dea sent a deck of questions instead.

01
A gift that wasn’t an object

The most useful thing a creative partner can give you is a reason to think differently — and that’s exactly what a December calendar leaves no room for. The brief was two minutes a week, and a year that goes differently because of them.

02
Why cards, and not an app

A card can be propped against a monitor. It can’t notify you, score you, or ask you to rate it. Shane wrote each one the same way — a concept, two questions with no correct answer, and a quest small enough to actually do — then had them printed and posted.

03
Then people asked for more

Partners kept them on their desks. Teams started running them as a Monday exercise. People who never received a deck asked how to get one. So it became this: the same prompts, mailed out one a week, free, to anyone who wants a reason to look up.

“On behalf of A Great !dea, I hope you enjoy these exercises in thought as much as we enjoyed sharing them. With gratitude and joy.”
